Very early directory of traders ("agents, brokers & factors, etc.") covering "480 separate towns" in the whole of England, Ireland, Scotland & Wales. A rare early national directory, which covers the northern half of England and the North of Wales. The counties included are Cheshire, Cumberland, Derbyshire, Durham, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire, Rutlandshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Westmoreland, Worcestershire and Yorkshire. It follows Pigot's normal format for directories, with a classified commercial directory following a description of each location covered. The Commercial & Professional directory lists traders in alphabetical order, as the Court directory does for Private Residents. The Official directory lists Government officials, and also those in the employ of the Crown. Very detailed for such an early directory (pp 953).
