Information
Royal Military Asylum Web-site of the Royal Military Asylum for children, which opened in Chelsea in 1801. Contains a lot of detail, census extracts, births, deaths, etc.
UK census links Several very useful census links to available transcriptions of census on the net. Some require a fee to view, but many are free.

National Archives Home page of the National Archives, which now inlcudes the Historic Manuscripts Commission. This has a national catalogue of holdings.

Familysearch Site of the Church of Latter Day Saints, which provides free lookups for baptisms, marriages and a few deaths

Church Plans on-line Lottery funded project in which the Lambeth Palace library has published a large number of plans of British churches
Birmingham Canal Navigation Society Web-site of the local society which aims to conserve the 100 miles or so of canals round Birmingham. Contains history of our canals, many photographs and much, much more
