The registers were published by Arthur Rollason in 1899 as an attempt to ensure that their contents were not lost. He was a member, inter alia, of the Harleian Society and also the British Record Society, and lived in Dixon's Green in Dudley, so naturally has a keen interest in the preservation of local records. Includes the registers of the Society of Friends, The Old meeting House, The Independents, The Wesleyan Methodists, The Baptists and the Methodist New Connexion. Transcript of the Parish Registers of Bretforton from 1538 to 1837. Also included are 23 appendices on various topics, including the History of St Leonard's Church, extracts from local manorial records, from the churchwardens accounts, from local wills with some genealogical details of influential local families. At the end is a very detailed name and place index. Written by the vicar of Bretforton in 1908 (W H Shawcross). A goldmine for anyone with ancestors from this parish.
