Church Records on CD-ROM available on this site

Church records have obvious application to genealogical research since baptism, marriage and burial registers provide details of personal events not recorded elswhere beofre Cvil registration started in 1837. There are a number of good sites which provide access to these, the best known of which is the Familysearch site of the Church of Latter Day Saints. In addition, there is much material available via Family History Societies.

It is not our objective to replicate these sources. Rather, we have made available printed sources summarising the Church Records available for a particular area or Church. these are valuable in themselves, as they usually contain a history of the Parish, as well as a summary of the available sources. Sometimes they also include a transcript of the various early Registers, and also extracts from Churchwardens' accounts, Vestry Books, and so on.

Church records are currently available for Warwickshire and Worcestershire, and some for Birmingham, Staffordshire and Shropshire will shortly be added. Double click on the link to access books.
